Michigan Hit and Run Car Horse Accident: Man Hits Horse but Says that it’s a Deer
In Grattan Township, Michigan, Michael John Dean, 36, admitted to a June 3rd crash where he struck a person riding a horse with his car and then fled the scene. Witnesses attested to a black Jeep Cherokee that hit the horse; the same car that Dean owned. However, upon questioning, Dean said that the damage to his car was recently caused by a deer that he had hit, and he even took deer hair and tried to place it on his vehicle as a hit and run cover up.
The person riding the horse only suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Police later obtained a search warrant for his vehicle and seized some forensic evidence for examination. The evidence was a perfect match. Mr. Dean received a misdemeanor for fleeing the scene.
This is just one of those rare situations that makes you wonder.
